Post Community Newspapers Go Stockport-Wide
This September sees the launch of three new Post-area newspapers, with all areas of Stockport being covered by a free, printed hyperlocal community newspaper.
Drawing Board Productions Community Interest Company first launched Heatons Post community newspaper in February 2020 to support the Heatons and Reddish communities, sharing positive news and essential local information. Cheadle Post and Bramhall Post were then launched to support the communities of Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Gatley, Bramhall and Woodford.
The Post newspapers launching in September are:
- Edgeley Post covering the areas between Edgeley and Davenport
- Hazel Grove Post covering the areas between Hazel Grove and Offerton
- Romiley & Marple Post covering the areas between Romiley and Marple, including High Lane, Bredbury, Woodley, and Brinnington.
This will provide a printed, hyperlocal, positive news publication to support and reach every community in the Stockport Borough.
Each newspaper will feature hyperlocal news for the areas it covers, as well as Stockport wide news and information. The total distribution of Post community newspapers across the borough will be 35,000+ per month.
Post community newspapers operate on a not-for-profit basis and have proved to be an important way to ensure residents in each community are kept informed and connected, while also supporting local businesses and the important work of community groups, support services and local charities in local areas.
With digital exclusion and social isolation continuing to be issues that affect all communities, having access to relevant positive local news and information in print has proved to be just as important as ever.
