From Stockport School Jam sessions to Manchester Academy 3
Following on Stockport’s reign as Town of Culture, another Stockport home-grown band is making waves on the local music scene and heading down the road to Manchester Academy 3.
They started playing local venues in Stockport like The Spinning Top and Hazel Grove Social Club, gradually building a reputation for their energetic live shows. Their music is a mix of indie-rock and raw, honest lyrics that have struck a chord with their growing audience. Over time, the band’s sound has evolved, and they’ve become known for their tight musicianship and strong stage presence.
Their debut singles “Bent” (June) and “Reason To” (July) helped to spread the word about their music, with both tracks streaming on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. With their next single, “greenscreen”, set for release on December 6th, they’re continuing to build on their momentum and show they’re not slowing down.
Meet the band:
– Nic Malabuyoc (Songwriter, Vocals, Guitar): Currently studying BA Music Production at Spirit Studios.
– Lucas May (Drums): Currently studying BA Music at Salford University.
– Fred Roberts (Guitar): Currently working through an apprenticeship in marketing.
– Rhys McNish (Bass): Currently taking a gap year to work while continuing to pursue music.
Saneface are still in the early stages of their journey, but they’re already making an impact. As they head into their headline show at Manchester Academy 3 on November 29th, and prepare to release new music, it’s clear they’ve got a long road ahead – and they’re ready for whatever comes next.
