Stockport County Matchday Bucket Collections top £18,000

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Stockport County fans, an amazing £18,836 was raised via match day bucket collections during the recent 2023/24 season.

A wide range of local charities and good causes were able to benefit from these extra funds, from the Royal British Legion to Stockport Foster Carers Association.

The final home game of the season against Accrington Stanley saw Keira’s Kingdom visiting the stadium with their army of bucket collectors. The charity supports adults and children in the area who are currently living with a life-limiting, chronic or mental illness.

Said its founder, Michelle Conway:

“We had such a fantastic day at Edgeley Park. The County fans were so friendly and welcoming, with many stopping to ask questions about all the work that we do.

“Our volunteers were able to collect some much-needed funds for our small-but-mighty charity and we’d like to thank everyone at the club for allowing us this opportunity.”

Added Dave Wardle, Operations Manager at Stockport County Community Trust:

“This final total is phenomenal and goes to show how generous our fans are, even when times are tough.

“We’d like to thank everyone who donated, and we look forward to welcoming more charities to Edgeley Park next season.”
