Heaton’s Open Garden Day – Save the Date: 18th June

Heaton’s Open Garden Day – Save the Date: 18th June

Sunday 18th June is Heaton’s Open Garden Day where we will see many hundreds of people wandering the streets of the Heaton’s, carrying brightly coloured programmes advertising the 13th Rotary Open Garden Day.

Organised by Rotary Stockport Lamplighter, the day was originally intended as a community event but has now also become a super fund raiser for good causes.

This year, private gardens, allotments, sports clubs as well as community and school gardens, will be open from all parts of the four Heatons.

Programmes have been the same price for the past 13 years and represent excellent value for money at £5 pounds for up to two adults if purchased beforehand and £8  on the day.

Accompanied children are free

A list of all the gardens taking part will be on the Open Gardens website by the end of May

www.heatonsopengardens.net

Programmes will be available in the shops towards the end of May and can be purchased from : The Flower Basket: Blaggs: Unwins: Blue Corn: The Good Life.

After costs, all proceeds are donated to charity and over the years more than sixty thousand pounds has been donated to a variety of good causes….. ..the gardener’s refreshment and plant sales going directly to a charity of their own choice.

You may be lucky enough to bump into Lamplighters President, Charlotte, as she wanders round the gardens. If you do, please say hello and chat to her and also to the gardeners, who look forward to seeing you on what will hopefully be a really warm, inspiring day.
