It’s time to get the borough’s businesses bouncing! Again!

It’s time to get the borough’s businesses bouncing! Again!

Following the difficult trading times brought about by the pandemic, the team at One Stockport are once again encouraging everyone to support their local business community – “let’s shop local and get the borough’s businesses bouncing!”

To support local businesses as they emerged from the lockdowns and restraints of the past 2 years, One Stockport launched an Economic Recovery Campaign, getting the “Borough’s Business Bouncing” which featured a video fronted by Stockport’s Will Mellor One Stockport It’s time to get (2021) – YouTube and giving starring roles to businesses across the borough.

The aim was to encourage everyone to support local businesses by shopping and eating out locally and for businesses to think local when considering their suppliers. It proved very popular as thousands of views of the video saw people stay local, shop local and support their business communities, making people think ‘local’ in everything they do.

And now it’s back! Hundreds of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés across the borough are bouncing back and reminding their loyal customers to stay local and help their local communities thrive by displaying posters and stickers in their windows.

If you’d like to join in and get your borough’s business bouncing, get in touch with One Stockport now by emailing the team – getinvolved@onestockport.co.uk – we’ll be in touch with stickers and posters. Participating shops can take a photo of their shops or record a short video showing how you and your customers are getting your business bouncing. Send them to us and we will share them with our partners and promote on our websites and social channels, spreading the message across the whole of Stockport. The One Stockport team would also love to hear any stories you have on how you are being supported locally. Additional window stickers and posters are available from your local library.

Businesses in Reddish have got together to promote local businesses with their own local message – ‘Let’s get Reddish Roaring’ – a campaign running throughout the summer and, coming soon, is their very own art trial of vividly painted roaring lions – so Reddish really is roaring! https://heatonspost.co.uk/reddish-roaring/

If you are interested in supporting your own district message – Cheadle Cheering, Gatley Going, Offerton On Again – contact the One Stockport team – getinvolved@onestockport.co.uk They are also on hand to support local retailers by helping them to access business support and to support local community organisations – helping to deliver events, activities and initiating projects which stimulate the local economy and support local communities.
