Ideas for Making Walks Sensory

How many different coloured flowers can you spot on your walk?  What sounds can you hear? Can you notice different smells along your walk?

Sensory Walks help people engage with nature and use their senses to connect with their surroundings. They are designed to give people with complex disabilities meaningful ways to be active, but can be enjoyed by anyone.

A sensory walk doesn’t have to be long or to a specific destination –  it could just be walking to the shops or around your local park. You don’t need to take much or any equipment and you can go on foot, using a wheelchair or using a walker.
