Stockport once again crowned Foodie Neighbourhood of the Year

Stockport has again been named Foodie Neighbourhood of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards 2026!

Once just known for the Market Hall and a decent chippy tea, our town has quietly become a foodie haven with so many incredible places to eat and drink. Stockport beat the likes of Chorlton, Altrincham, Levenshulme and Salford to take the crown.

Stockport’s food scene has exploded in recent years, turning the town into a go-to spot for serious scran. From standout bakeries and coffee shops like Sticky Fingers and Coffee Block to award-winning bistros such as Where The Light Gets In and Cantaloupe. That’s before you mention the now-legendary Foodie Friday street food takeover on the last Friday of every month.

The win was announced at a ceremony at New Century on Monday 26 January, where more than 350 hospitality heavyweights gathered to celebrate the best of the region’s restaurants, bars and producers. With 130 nominees across 18 categories, competition was fierce – but Stockport’s clearly stood out. Judges praised the area’s rapid growth, variety and strong support for local businesses.

Stockport isn’t just up and coming. It’s arrived.
