Meet the Stockport agency choosing human creativity in the age of AI

Meet Morgan and Adam, the couple behind Gloaming – a creative agency based in Stockport that chooses not to use to use Artificial Intelligence.

Specialising in mixed-media campaigns for outdoor and lifestyle brands, Gloaming has built a reputation for blending artistic depth with commercial precision to create work that feels truly unique.

What sets Gloaming apart is their stance on creativity itself. They pull inspiration from unexpected places and combine physical with digital art techniques creating work that feels alive and tactile. Their approach centres on research, inspiration, and collaboration, exploring ideas through sketching, materials, and experimentation.

Adam said:

“The first year of starting a business can be the hardest. We’ve been so thankful for the support of the Stockport creative and business community as well as our clients who have shared our vision to create something beautiful.

We’re excited to see what 2026 holds for us and to continue growing in Stockport, there’s a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline, keep an eye out!”

The couple, who live in Edgeley, have backgrounds in account management, production and creative direction. Morgan had a strong stylistic point of view and was increasingly frustrated by the lack of space for female voices in the outdoor sector. Adam was looking for more purpose in the workplace and had ambitions to build a business, so the couple took a leap of faith to launch their own agency.

In less than a year, Gloaming has quietly built an impressive list of clients, working with specialist running brands such as SUMS Club and Korean clothing labels Welter Experiment & Urbandtype. Their projects span photography, videography, design, illustration and strategy.

As they approach their first anniversary, Gloaming is set to take on their first employee as well as continuing to collaborate with a network of freelancers.

Another independent business choosing to build their future in Stockport, adding even more energy to our town’s growing creative community.
