Turkish Culture Festival comes to Stockport

Turkish Culture Festival comes to Stockport

Stockport town centre will be alive with colour, music, and flavour this September as the Turkish Culture Festival comes to Princes Street. The free, family-friendly event takes place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September, from 10am–6pm, and promises a weekend full of celebration and community spirit.

Organised by Fresh Skillz CIC, the festival will showcase the very best of Turkish heritage – from live folk music and dazzling dance performances to authentic food, sweet treats, and artisan stalls. Visitors can tuck into traditional dishes such as gözleme and baklava, enjoy freshly brewed Turkish tea, and take part in cultural workshops and activities for all ages.

The weekend will also feature breakdance performances from Fresh Skillz Breakdance Academy, alongside arts, crafts, and interactive displays that highlight the richness of Turkish culture and traditions.

Fresh Skillz CIC Director, T. Erkustanlar, said:

“This festival is a celebration of community, friendship, and the beauty of cultural exchange. We’re excited to welcome everyone to experience the warmth and hospitality of Turkish culture right here in Stockport.”

Bring your appetite, grab some baklava, and get ready to experience Turkey in the heart of Stockport!

There are limited stall spaces still available for local businesses, community groups, and artisan traders. To get involved, contact 07930 808631 or email freshskillzmanchester@gmail.com.
