Reddish South Station wins Cheshire Best Kept Station award
Friends of Reddish South Station was awarded for their campaign and work on the station over 13 years, and probably for persistence!!
Friends of Reddish South Station are delighted to have been recognised for their work in the Cheshire’s Best Kept Stations (CBKS) Annual Awards.
This year’s awards were an obviously muted affair this year, moved from the usual February date to November, and, of course, on line instead of the lovely theatre setting it has been held in for some years.
Mark Barker made the presentations from Hadlow Road Station. The awards were made differently this year as no judging could take place, and of course not a lot of work has been done at the stations due to the pandemic.
Station groups were asked instead to nominate a particular event or project they have been particularly proud of, and the judges themselves looked back at the history of the awards ‘to spot consistent excellence over the years and particularly noteworthy achievements’.
There were 18 Special Awards and 3 Highly Commended Awards, as well as 5 Personal Commendation Awards; Reddish South was awarded for our campaign and work on the station over 13 years, and probably for persistence!!
The full Awards film can be viewed above via You Tube Channel ‘Best Kept Stations’.
We were delighted and surprised to be one of the Special Award Winners and send our thanks to Mark Barker, Stephen Forde and the team at CBKS for the award, and the sponsors that made it possible.
There will be a presentation at the station when it is safe to do so in 2021.
