Social and creative activity (aged 18+) to learn the art of using thread to represent and record your everyday experiences as miniature stitches at Arc Centre, Stockport with Stephanie Evans, a Stockport-based Embroidery Artist.
This is a community funded event for returning Thread Journalers. A limited number of free spaces are available for community members, but this is an additional offering arranged after so many of you were asking to return more regularly.
This workshop will run alongside our introduction workshop. As soon as our new Thread Journalers are settled, I will be working my way around the room demonstrating more advanced techniques as requested. This is the perfect opportunity to advance your embroidery skills further, as well as spending time with fellow, local creatives.
Your ticket price includes a hot drink from Arc Centre’s cafe, helping to support the important work that they do. The remaining amount will go towards supporting Self Care Creatives, ensuring the continuation of these local community wellbeing sessions.
Thread journaling is the art of using thread to represent and record your everyday experiences as miniature stitches. This can be done daily, weekly, monthly or whenever you fancy. Classes are centred on capturing memories and practicing gratitude through active mediation whilst developing skills, building confidence and a community.
You do also have the option to become a member and receive the additional benefits. As a monthly member you contribute to the continuation of local community sessions. You can also attend various workshops across Manchester for free (City Centre and Cheadle Hulme), as well as gaining access to 4+ years of virtual Thread Journal classes and a plethora of exclusive embroidery patterns.
