The Real Public Art Show – an Open Exhibition

Stockport’s Real Public Art Show has been created by local people as Stockport celebrates its Town of Culture status 2023.

Stockport’s Real Public Art Show – a special Town of Culture themed Open Exhibition at the War Memorial Art Gallery is showcasing work of art created by local people. The works of art on display celebrate something, somewhere or someone in the Borough of Stockport.  The event has inspired many more people to get creative themselves or to explore places captured in the work.

Running alongside the main open exhibition, is a special Children’s & Young Peoples Open Exhibition displaying work from children and young people in Key Stages 1-4,  showing how our young creatives have interpreted people, places and stories of Stockport.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors to Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery are invited to vote for their favourite artworks in the People’s Choice Award!  The winners will be announced on Sat 2^nd  September at 3pm by the Mayor of Stockport.

The exhibition will run from Sunday 30th July to Thursday 21^st September.
