Sounds in Nature: Build your own Plant Synth

Make Stuff is a series of fun and unique creative digital activities for all ages from the digital rookie to the tech savvy.
Thu, 30 May 2024 at 10:00am
Stockport Museum, 30 Market Place Stockport SK1 1ES
Part of our half-term events for mini-makers
Did you know that plants conduct small amounts of electrical activity? We’ll use that power to help you build your very own plant synth.
After, you’ll get to connect your synth to different conductive materials like moss, leaves, or water. Each material has its own unique electrical properties, which the synth will translate into different sounds.
This interactive workshop is a great way to learn about electronics, nature, and how to make music with everyday objects.
Each session takes 1 hour. Sign up for one of four sessions on Thursday 30, May:
- 10:00 – 11:00 (ages 7+)
- 11:30 – 12:30 (ages 7+)
- 13:30 – 14:30 (ages 12+)
