£2

Make Stuff is a series of fun and unique creative digital activities for all ages from the digital rookie to the tech savvy.

Wed, 29 May 2024 at  10:00

Part of our half-term events for mini-makers

Imagine being a listener at the heart of a dawn chorus of bird song; the creaks and groans of a haunted house; or the stadium cheering of a Wembley football final.

You’ll experience and recreate these and other sound worlds using our Sonic Pixels – a collection of remote-controlled, mini-speakers arranged like pixels on a screen. Through a range of fun activities you’ll learn how sound helps us know where we are as well as navigate our way through our 3D world; record and edit your own sounds; collect your own sound banks using free online sample libraries; have a go at coding a wireless micro-controller to trigger a Sonic Pixel; play with the Sonic Pixels system; and create collective sound experiences together as part of the Sonic Pixel orchestra.

Each session takes 2 hours. Sign up for one of two sessions on Wednesday, 29th May:

  • 10:00-12:00 for ages 7+
  • 13:00-15:00 for ages 13+
