Make Stuff is a series of fun and unique creative digital activities for all ages from the digital rookie to the tech savvy.
Thu, 30 May 2024 at 10:00am
Part of our half-term events for mini-makers
Lights, cameras, action! Discover the magic of long exposure photography and ‘paint’ fantastical shapes and figures by capturing the movement of light sources in a dark environment. Led by photographer and artist Ciara Leeming, you’ll learn how a camera works and create stunning light effects using different materials. Explore different roles as the director, camera operator and light artist! This hands-on experience is perfect for beginners.
Who’s this for?
Sign up for one of two sessions on Thursday 30, May:
Each light station will be shared between four people: so do feel free to come as a group of two (or four!)
What do you need to bring?
Just you! We’ll provide all the equipment you need.
Cost
This event is free to attend. We charge a £2 booking fee, which is refunded on attending the event. Or, if you prefer, you can leave it as a donation to MadLab CIC to support future community-led events. Refunds will be processed within seven working days. If you cannot afford a ticket, please email makestuff@madlab.org.uk with your name and postcode, and we will be in touch.
Additional Information
Light refreshments will be provided.
Please note
We have multiple workshops during the day, starting at 10am. The specific start time for your event will be listed under ‘Order Summary’ in your confirmation email.
About the facilitator
Ciara Leeming is a photographer and writer based in Manchester who uses photography, text, collage, and audio to tell stories.
