A VIADUCT & TWO RIVERS

A creative writing workshop responding to the paintings of Helen Clapcott.

Helen Clapcott paints Stockport past, present, future and imagined, all in the same frame, focussing on a square mile in the town centre.

This open to all two hour workshop takes place in Stockport Art Gallery during Helen’s first major retrospective.

Led by Steve Dearden, we’ll use Helen’s paintings and drawings as starting points to write through the prism of place, crunching perspectives and time in our writing, whatever form you write in.

Steve Dearden is the Director of The Writing Squad the North’s development scheme for young writers, based in Stockport, though this workshop is open to all ages! A short story writer he has experience of delivering workshops in a wide range of arts and cultural settings and mentoring writers who have gone on to be published, produced and performed.
