Help for Heroes Photography Exhibition

Welcome to the first Help for Heroes photography exhibition.

Saturday 30 September to Sunday 12 November 2023 at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.

Introduction to the Exhibition:

We champion the Armed Forces community and helps them live well after service. The charity helps them and their families, to recover and get on with their lives.

The photos that you see are all taken by our veteran community and have been inspired by our photography courses and workshops over the past three years.

We launched our photography courses to help veterans in their recovery through fighting social isolation, providing a routine and generating a sense of pride and achievement.

Since then, the virtual and face-to-face meet-ups with professional photographer, Siorna Ashby, have attracted hundreds of veterans and their families who all learn how to improve their picture-taking skills, whether they are using a camera or a mobile phone.

The workshops and projects have helped build confidence, knowledge and created a caring welcoming community for other photographers.

The Charity supports veterans from any branch of the UK military – regulars or reserves – irrespective of length or place of service, and locally embedded civilians (and their families) who worked alongside our Armed Forces.
