Underbanks Gallery launch 2023 Junior Art Competition

Following their successful pilot competition in 2022, Underbanks Gallery have summer activities for 2023, including their 2023 Junior Art competition.

The competition, this year funded by Forever Manchester, is a project being run throughout the summer and organised by Underbanks Gallery, an unfunded, volunteer led community art group, to showcase and support young artistic talent across Stockport.

Last year’s trail – ‘Love Stockport’ – attracted entries from young people aged 16 and below who submitted their works of art in a medium of their choice and any size, including 3-d models. The winners of the 2022 competition can be seen on their website HERE

This year’s theme – My Happy Place – is to encourage young people to use art to depict their happy place in Stockport.

Entries close on July 30th and the top 4 winners will receive a very special prize:
A signed A3 print of the magnificent mural created in the historic area of Underbank by local, internationally renowned graffiti artist, Qubek – as pictured below. Runners up will receive a Goody Bag and their work displayed on the BIG SCREEN at Mersey Way and Red Rock.

To enter: You must be 16 or under. You can ask a parent or guardian to help you to upload your entry to www.underbanks.co.uk
