SUMMARY:Beetlejuice-themed Halloween Celebrations with Merseyway and Redrock
DESCRIPTION:Merseyway Shopping Centre and Redrock Stockport will be putting on a show this Halloween as Beetlejuice-themed characters head into the town centre for a day of spooky celebrations. \nTaking place on Saturday 28th October from 12pm – 3pm\, families are invited to come along to Merseyway in their best Halloween attire for a day of tricks and treats. Located outside Specsavers\, families will be able to visit a ghostly graveyard in the undercover mall\, where they will be able to collect a Beetlejuice-themed trail map and follow clues around the centre to win *trick or treat prizes from the Spin to Win wheel. Scary craft sessions will also be taking place in the centre where children can make a Halloween night light ready to take home\, while Beetlejuice characters will also be on hand for scare-tacular photo opportunities. \n \nOnce visitors have collected their trail maps\, don’t forget to visit Beetlejuice himself as you make your way around the centre because he will be opening his very own joke shop on Adlington Walk\, where children will be encouraged to tell their best jokes to Beetlejuice\, who will reward each participant who manages to make him howl with laughter throughout the day. \nHowever\, the Day-O won’t be over until 7pm\, as Redrock Stockport prepares to host safe trick-or-treating. Taking place from 5pm\, families will be asked to stay in their Halloween costumes and come down to the popular entertainment complex for an evening of celebrations\, including walkabout acts\, live music\, and spooky family-friendly games.   \nRedrock restaurants and bars will also be getting involved with the Halloween fun\, with Pizza Express offering free Halloween doughballs to all visitors who download the Pizza Express app.   \nCentre Manager\, Victoria Nichol said “Our annual Trick or Treat celebrations have become a staple event for Stockport town centre and we’re so excited for its return in 2023. This year’s celebrations will be Beetlejuice-themed and we can’t wait to see all the parents and children in their Halloween costumes ready to celebrate the Halloween weekend. SUMMARY:The Stockport Music Map Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join The Stockport Music Map Walking Tour and discover Stockport’s music history with insight from acclaimed music journalist and author Mick Middles. \n \nMick grew up in Stockport and was a regular contributor to Sounds music paper. He wrote the first book on The Smiths and biographies on many Manchester music luminaries including Joy Division\, New Order\, The Stone Roses\, Tony Wilson\, Mick Hucknall and Mark E Smith. \nThe tour meets at the historic Red Bull pub on Middle Hillgate. Ticket price includes a bacon butty (or vegan option) on arrival at the Red Bull at midday (please note drinks not included). \nThe Tour will start at the Red Bull with a welcome by your tour guides John Barratt and Dr ‘Strawberry’ Peter Wadsworth \nAt 12.30pm approx the tour will leave the Red Bull to take in the landmarks that played a significant part in The Stockport Music Story from the 1960’s to the present day. \nThe tour will conclude at Stockport Museum where there is an opportunity to see the Strawberry Studios exhibition and to take part in a Q&A in the Education Room with Mick Middles. Tea\, coffee and biscuits will be included in the ticket price.
