DESCRIPTION:Vernon Mill Artists are celebrating their 25th anniversary and will be having a special Arts and Culture Open Weekend from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th of September. \nThe artists of Vernon Mill will open their studios and invited guests will entertain with live music from The Rock Choir\, Book reading and performance poetry amongst other events. \nThe Friday night will feature the artists’ traditional preview night with open studios and a live DJ set to provide a party atmosphere. \nOn Saturday and Sunday visitors can continue to enjoy the open studios and also free art workshops\, talks\, live music\, poetry performances and a children’s story time and colouring event. \nOn Saturday and Sunday the third floor will also be open to visitors as one of the national Heritage Open Day Events. \nSpecial guest David Edwards Hulme will read from his highly interesting and informative book ‘Fire’ which tells the reader about working in the Vernon Mills complex when it was first built and narrates the detail of the fire of 1902 when many were killed or injured.
