Stockport to get a smiley makeover with summer art trail
From 4th July – 15th September 2025, Stockport will transform into a playful outdoor art gallery as the SmileyWorld Art Trail takes over the town centre.
Fresh from successful runs in London and North Tyneside, the trail brings 15 colourful and playful sculptures to life – each one created by a different artist and inspired by a wide range of human emotions, from joy and pride to anxiety and surprise.
Created by public art pros Wild in Art and brought to town by Totally Stockport BID in partnership with SmileyWorld, the trail is completely free and open to all ages.
You’ll find the sculptures at key locations around town, including Merseyway, The Plaza, Redrock, and Viaduct Park. It’s a self-guided trail, so you can explore at your own pace.
It’s more than just a walk – it’s a celebration of emotion, creativity and community.
