Stockport’s Brilliant Businesses Bouncing campaign

Stockport’s Brilliant Businesses Bouncing campaign

shortlisted for leading industry award!

The Town and City Management Industry Awards 2024 run by the Association of Town Centre Management, invited entries for effective campaigns and our Brilliant Businesses Bouncing was entered.

Shortlisted in the very competitive  ‘Best Marketing and Branding Scheme’ category, the criteria was strict and entries had to demonstrate strong engagement with stakeholders and effective communication strategies that delivered on clear objectives.

The innovative multi channel Brilliant Businesses Bouncing campaign brought together businesses and the community to highlight the benefit of spending money locally using Stockport born, Corrie, Mr Bates and Strictly star, Will Mellor.

Will’s own family run a business in Stockport and he genuinely understands what it’s like and the challenges involved. Talking to the businesses in Stockport about the campaign helped us evolve and shape the concept and get buy in and support from across the Borough.

Steve Oliver, Chair of the Stockport Economic Alliance and CEO / Founder of musicMagpie said:

It doesn’t’ surprise me that we have been shortlisted. The campaign was excellent and the exposure it got was phenomenal. In these challenging economic times we need to support our local small businesses and high street shops more than ever. Spending our money locally makes such a difference and the supportive spirit generated by this campaign was fantastic. One of the key messages in the campaign was if every household spent just £1a week locally this would mean £6 million going back into local businesses each year. When you look at metrics like that, our campaign messaging was spot on. A massive thank you to everyone in the borough who got behind this campaign – businesses, communities and residents”

The winners will be announced on the 19th June.
