New round of R Time funding announced for youth of Stockport
The aim of R Time is to support and inspire young people to make decisions and take action which will positively affect their communities and the people that live in them
The programme has seen activities like gardening, online nutritional courses, COVID activity packs, podcasting and music workshops delivered in Brinnington, Marple and Romiley respectively through earlier rounds.
This round of funding will build on that offer by delivering a diverse range of opportunities, including access to training and volunteering.
The funding aims to reduce anti-social behaviour, a primary goal of R Time, which is jointly managed by Life Leisure, the Stockport Youth Justice and Targeted Youth Support Services and Stockport Homes Group.
Cllr Amanda Peers said:
“This is a great opportunity for young people to lead on positive change in their community, the funding covers a range of possibilities and I would encourage the young people of Stockport to be innovative, and generate ideas that develop new skill sets, enhance their education or create spaces for self expression.”
